EHS Manager

Our client is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management, and they are recruiting a EHS Manager to join the team located in Riyadh – KSA. The successful candidate be responsible for developing, supporting, maintaining, and updating the asset management system and procedures including implementing strategies, writing documentation and guidance, and maintaining a database to ensure the best overall life cycle costs to support the operations.

Key Tasks:

Develop and Issue Safety Management System supported by regional documents according to quality.

• Audit the effectiveness of the Safety Management System and report issues to top management.

• Improve and modify Safety Management System to protect organisation against litigation and prosecution.

• Follow recent developments in the legislation and advise company on compliance.

• Create country-wide resource basis for legal advice on all Health & Safety and Environmental matters.

• Act as the prime contact to the Health, Safety & Environmental authorities, maintain and foster good relations with the Health, Safety & Environmental authorities.

• Develop Programmes and coach regional trainers for Preventive Programmes

• Liaise with insurers for all company liability claims, property protection etc.

• Cooperate with regional purchasing team to identify opportunities for cost savings related to EHS matters.

• Organise and implement Standardised personal protective programme in order to ensure correct standard personal protective equipment is provided at an acceptable cost.

• Conduct Health & Safety Compliance Audits in accordance with the regional quality instructions and communicate audit results to management.

• Provide service to the local coordinators in the accounts by performing relatively simple “in house” statutory required measurements at no costs (noise measurements, infrared thermographic surveys, etc…)

• Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training.

• Follow required emergency prevention and operational controls.

Person Specification

Engineering or bachelor’s degree, Health & Safety qualification

• Languages (English plus 1 additional)

• Strategic thinker

• Team player

• Cultural awareness

• Demonstrable experience in a similar role/business

• Strong proven operations experience
